Wondering if someone could advise me of where I stand.

About 6 months ago I got my eyes tested at a local opticians paid for via my work. They supplied me with my work related eyewear and that was that.

Now one of my own sets of glasses recently got damaged so I am down to one pair. I thought I would go and look for some more and went back to the optician that did the eye test (not somewhere I would normally go but it is a work mandated opticians), I didn't really find any that I liked so I asked for a copy of my persciption so I could go else where.

At this point they wrote out the prescription and tried to charge me £25 for a duplicate. Surely this has got to be wrong. It took no more than 10 seconds to write it out. I told them no chance not at that price. But then on leaving I thought what are the legalities/regulations of not providing it. I can't even remember them giving me a copy at all if I am honest.

Either way it will only ever be work mandated glasses and contacts from them now.

I'd go elsewhere and get a new test (most likely free or sub £25)
