Anyone done it?

As I fast approach old age I think I would like to give someone a start in life. Okay, pension scheme administration probably isn't everyone's cup of tea but hopefully someone worthwhile will be interested.

If you have done it, did you advertise locally or happen to know of someone, friend of a friend like?

Can I advertise for a school leaver or does that come under age discrimination?

There are agencies that assist with apprenticeships.
Overall, we have found them pretty useful - there are some great people out there who just don't get on at school.

I'm not planning an official apprenticeship, just on the job training.

Ok.

I think you will need someone over 18 then as 16 year olds need to be on something formal.

Contact your local college and speak to the careers department.
