So I parked my 4 week old 718 at the station today came back after work and bird st all over the rear spoiler. I've washed it off with bird st neutraliser but I can still see a mark in the laquer.

Any ideas how I can get the marks out?

Cheers

Friendly neighbourhood Detailer should be able to correct it in no time.

Had exactly the same on the wife's MINI a few years back. I tried all sorts of potions to remove it without success. 10 mins with a pro detailer and it was like new again.

Came here to see how you were making a quick profit from bird poo.....

However, I agree, no biggie for your local detailer to fix. Also, PPF takes away the worry. Maybe consider doing both at the same time?

I've shifted them with MER and the polishing mop (no chance by hand), but the longer they are left, the harder they seem to be to remove? Some never totally come out which is where the pros come in?

Bit of polish and elbow grease ;-)

Wax it before next time and it just wipes off.

No need to pay a pro for such basic maintenance.

can be a bh. I had just finished cleaning the HC. Went inside to get the vacuum cleaner. Came out less than five minutes. Two bird craps which I wiped off immediately. In the right light with a clean car I can still see them. That was two years ago and many polishes after. I have not tried the TCut route. I don't want to tempt fate and some elephant comes along and dumps on the car

Bird shat on wife's Audi bonnet. A huge splat of poo!

By the time we got home it had etched through the lacquer. Took it to Audi, knowing what the answer would be. It would have to be re-painted. Polishing couldn't replace the dissolved paint/lacquer.

Now we carry Autoglym Bird Poo Wipes in both cars!: https://www.autoglym.com/bird-dropping-wipes

Believe it or not, used tea bags are remarkably effective at removing guano.

I carry a box of these in the car now since I had similar on my last car.

They can be had cheaper on eBay or Amazon too.

I keep some bug and bird dropping wipes in the car. Also make sure to wipe with a glass cleaning wipe after so the chemicals from the other wipes don't ruin paintwork.

I never flip it. Just soak it off with 'last touch' detailer and buff.

Teehee laugh

Oh dear, is Porsche's paint so thin/crap that a few hours of guano can spoil it?? I might not buy a 718 if it's going to be so fragile. Are all colours equally affected? May the bird's diet is a factor? (Did the chips have vinegar?!)

My red metallic BMW, which I was going to replace with a red or yellow 718, often gets crapped on by smallish birds. I just use a water mister to soften it and then a soaked kitchen towel to remove. No bird st related blemishes as far as I can see.

Big Al.
