I want to powder coat the engine mounts and have got the passenger side off but can't get the drivers side off due to the oil pipe bracket stopping it from coming off and there's not enough 'give' in it to pull it free. I know the obvious answer is to undo the 28mm nut that joins the pipe to the engine but I can't shift it even with heat .
So is there any pointers? Do the studs come out of the engine mount brackets?

I reckon the obvious answer is the right answer.

You can get a lot of leverage with a decent 28mm spanner, you also have the option to tap the end with a mallet, although I'd be amazed if you couldn't shift it just by using your foot.

Jacking the engine up can give a bit more room. Get even more room with the manifolds off as the engine can be shifted side ways a little.
