I'm in on the market for a hot hatchback, something to use for dailynduties, long trips and also obligatory twice a month trackday.

My budget or 12-15k.

I'm after something small and fun to drive.

I've narrowed it down to a Clio 200 Cup/ FF Cup and Fiesta ST Mk7

I am torn between the two and like the idea of a 14 plate Fiesta ST and see a lot of them around, but is that a testament to how good they are?

The Clio on the other hand, is a bit old and the last if a dying breed of N/A cars with a great chassis setup.

Fiesta ST.

Pros:
- Good reliability.
- 2-3 years old with low miles
- Good comfort for long trips
- Great handling and chassis
- Decent economy
- Lots of extras (ST3)
- Plenty of upgrades and tuning options.
- Comes in 3 or 5 door.
Cons:
- Costs more to buy
- A lot of them around
- Looks similar to other Fiesta models

Clio 200/ 200 Cup

Pros:
- Cheaper to buy
- Great chassis ability and handling
- Recaro buckets
- Better brakes
- Not many around

Cons:
- worse economy
- Gearbox synchro issues
- Interior not as nice as ST's
- Weighs more than the ST
- Lack of tuning options
- Cup spec sparse unless it's Full Fat
- Not ideal for long journeys.
- 3 door only

I've considered a Megane RS250 Cup, around the same price as the Fiesta, but for a 6-7 year old example with 50-70k miles.

I wouldn't mind other suggestions for other cars or hearing ownership/driving experiences with the aforementioned cars.

4 year old Meganes fit into your price range, even if you're considering it they're much better than either fiesta or clio as a road car. Used to have the Clio, terrible at boring everyday duties but great for a blast.
