Looking for something reliable and fast for under 2 grand. Would consider older cars and want under 100 thousand miles.

A few questions:

- Manual or auto?
- Petrol or diesel?
- Is MPG a consideration? If so, what's the lowest you'll go?

Most likely petrol but would consider diesel and mpg is not a real issue and as long as its not stupid

Focus ST170, MINI Cooper S, MG ZR 160 / ZS 180, Skoda Octavia VRS Mk1, SEAT Leon 1.8t.

Should all be cheap to maintain as they're quite popular.

I would condiser the ibiza fr 1.8t engine. The focus st170 looks nice and handles well but the rest of the reviews of it are poor.

Accord Type-R
Would have bought one as a cheap stop-gap if I didn't find a DC2 in my budget.

How about a Honda Accord Type-S? 188bhp of perfectly reliable VTEC hoonery. And well within budget.

I have had any type rs and love them but the accord seems to be getting rarer and most of them have big miles on

Yes, though not a fortune to repair any more. Great cars.

Audi a3/golf gti/seat leon/skoda octavia

All of the 1.8T variety get it, make sure the engine is good, then remap.

Best you will get for the money imo.
