Just wondered how many people other pistonheaders knew who died from Drugs

I can count two one as a result of Herion and another who fell off a roof whilst on LSD.

Not one.

Out of a representative sample of just about everyone I know.

none thank god. But knew one lad (about 12yrs ago) that did LSD and lost the pot, became a tramp and wandered the streets for years. No idea what he does now

Another person I knew who was a close friend. At the time he was a sky news reporter (really good job) we all went to Ibiza, he ended up doing pills everyday for 2 weeks (never had them before) few months after, he quit his job, moved to london, announced he was gay and wrote a book about his life. Since heard he has aids. (poor sod!)

Two. One heroin, one thought to be a mixture or allergic reaction (toxicology report inconclusive).

Still want to legalise the lot though.

By the by, how many people know someone who has killed themselves (or others!) with booze and/or fags?

Watched a courier die after swallowing 20 condoms of cocaine and two broke inside him.

Poor bastard was on a promise of money beyond his wildest dreams to carry class a drugs from Asia. Little did he realise that he was just another pawn in the trafficing games played by drugs barons.

None, although outside of a bit of weed most people I know are clean.

A girl in my school died after climbing on the school roof whilst pissed and falling off. I think she was only about 14.

I'm 22 and know of three people in my year / year below me at school who have died from drugs.

One in my year had a 'contest' with his mates to see how many ecstacy tablets they could take. rumour is apparantly he had 23 or 24.

and still his mates take drugs.

Not wanting to sound harsh or disrespectful, but that's just natural selection. You'd achieve a similar end with prescription drugs. Or Skittles probably.

Me, none. I had a mate who had a seriously bad acid trip (locked himself in his house for a couple of days) and another very close mate who did way too much acid and ended up in a psychiatric ward for a spell - he thought he was jesus and had a penchant for walking around naked. I believe he's well again now.

i've no connection with the guy just knew who he was but to me it's a symbol of what taking drugs does to people's minds in thinking that that was a good idea. you'd have to say that had he not taken drugs he probably would have thought better

None, despite quite a lot of my friends having quite a lot of drug contact

Know a bloke who nearly killed himself drink driving, despite the best efforts of his mates at the time trying to stop him

LSD is very much an unknown quantity.

Ask anyone who used to take LSD why they stopped and in almost all cases I will bet my bile duct it was because of one bad one...

I still believe its potentially the most dangerous of all of them because it alters your perspective, permanently.

I know one person who died of heart failure after years of steriod abuse (he was 33). Everyone at the gym was worried about him and we all had a go at talking to him about what he was doing. One day he was traing and his nose seemed to just pop and blood exploded from it. This sent the gym owner overboard and he banned him from the gym until, he sorted himself out. About 3 months after this he was dead!!

A school friend of mine burnt his lungs and face and died while sniffing gas(not the same as taking drugs but to a kid of 14 he got the same hit).

He and another lad into to sniffing this shit, got off their faces then he decided to spark up a smoke and the rest is history.

Happend when I was about 12, and made big news in my local town at the time.

One person from school was rumoured to have died from a herion overdose.

Know a few people who use drugs and aren't quite right in the head, but thinking about it they weren't normal beforehand either.

However it doesn't casue the physiological dependence of something like heroin

These 2 are closely followed by alcohol and nicotine IMO

But, as with all things, it's the actions of the irresponsible few that ruin it for the silent majority

But as we have discussed before the phsyiological addiction is overstated as it takes some time to get hold.

But yep, those 4, perhaps even booze and fags first.

Acid is a funny old thing, always leaves you wondering.

Matey who invented it, who spilled it on his hand in error, must have had a crazy few hours...

I came across some statistic once that 20% of heroin addicts and 50% of alcoholics are actually more addicted to nicotine than what they're "supposed" to be addicted to.

In answer to the original question: two, both heroin related.
