I'm thinking of selling my 981 BS, and thinking that a dealer may be the best option. When it goes in for a service in a couple of weeks I'm going to ask the OPC if they might be interested, but can anyone recommend any dealers on the basis of price and ease of sale? Not interested in SOR, just outright purchase. Thanks for any views, positive or otherwise!

Get a buy now price from Sterling Porsche

I've sold a Porsche to them - top bloke and always looking for late, low mileage cars

I sold a 997 4S to 911 Virgin and it was painless. Fair price, easy to deal with. Recommended

I've sold to and bought from Ashgood Porsche. Good guys to deal with - very straightforward.

Sold my 911 to a small car buying service in London called 'Wisely Sold', very swish and painless process. Saw it pop up for sale with a very modest mark up.

The OP asked for OPC recommendations! I sold my GT4 last Thursday to Porsche Wilmslow (Craig Rushton); pleasure dealing with them (always had a love/hate experience with them, but this time it was very good), they ran some checks (condition, rev range etc), agreed a deal, handed everything over, got paid the following day; they even gave me a lift to the train station. They told me they don't do SOR and prefer the outright purchase method, where as I've had the opposite from other OPC's.

I also found OPC Chester very good to deal with (Iain Joshua) and in terms of independents, 911Virgin (Tom and Terry) were outstanding.

If you want an OPC try Porsche Brooklands. I rang 4-5 OPCc and Brooklands were the best to deal with.

Think it depends on what you are selling. From what i've heard most OPCs will take your pants down. In the case if md_ian above - if you have a desirable GT car where the 2nd hand price is above new, then you may be prepared to take a lower offer as you've already made money. The car I bought was via a private dealer for this reason as the figure local OPC had given him was well below what he could get for it via other channels.

Goes without saying that you'll get less than via other channels of selling, but for me personally, I didn't want to sell via SOR, nor privately, so to avoid hassle, it was worth it for me to take £2-3k hit compared to what I may have been able to sell for.
