A combination of new wheels, pedals, shoes and shedding some weight myself has reduced my total bike+ rider weight from 94kg to 90kg. The biggest reduction is me - bike bits probably total about 1.25kg. All other things being equal should I expect my times on my usual circuits to be 4% faster...?

I suppose I knew the answer really but was hoping to understand the correlation, if there is one!

Too many variables to answer. You may be fitter when testing yourself at the new weight than the older weight.

In theory, you 'should' be quicker but I'd say you'd need more time and data than its really worth.
