After playing with a TVR Cerbera and an E46 M3 I am hoping to sample the delights of Porsche ownership.

I've been looking for a while and the model that I would like is the 993 C4S. The problem is I have a top budget of £28k and I'm thinking that this may be unrealistic as most RHD (and I want a RHD) appear to be fetching over £30k.

Should I lower my sights to a standard C2/C4 or should I keep searching?

Porticraft sold a 993 C2S (I think it was a 2S)recently for about 28 / 29K I think, so keep searching.
Look for cars on autotrader rather than web sites full of enthusiasts ie they tend to over value their cars.

Not impossible I guess. Will probably be 100k miles and maybe showing its wear a little. I bought one yesterday for a bit more than 28, and to be fair couln't find one cheaper, but if you wait you may do.

If you have no p/ex I know of a 96P 993 Targa Tip S which could be bought for £28K at a push.....Polar Silver 47K miles.

If there is one for £28K you better be fast because I might well get there first!

I've been looking for one for 6 months, but I'm being picky about colour/interior. The standard price for a c4s appears to be around £34K.

I sold my 83k mile 993 C4S (lhd) for £27k, and i only advertised it on PH and people were beating my door down. I think you'd be very, very lucky to find a straight 993 C4S in RHD that didn't need a fair bit of work for £28k.
