Sorry about that - I seem to recall now that the news pages can only be accessed by those on AOL.
For everyones' benefit, therefore,
Daniel Craig. As featured in the first Lara Croft film, as the 'other' tomb raider.
I copy/pasted the article below...
"Daniel Craig has been picked to play James Bond, taking over from Pierce Brosnan
Actor Daniel Craig is to be the next James Bond, it has been reported.
He has been offered a three-film deal by producer Barbara Broccoli, according to The Sun.
Craig, 37, starred in the gangster film Layer Cake and won the Most Stylish Actor award at the 2005 Elle Style Awards earlier this year.
The newspaper said he had been competing with fellow British actor Clive Owen to take over from Pierce Brosnan.
However, Owen had told casting agents he did not want the job as he feared it might limit his career.
Other names mentioned at different times in connection with the 007 role have included Eric Bana, Jude Law, Heath Ledger, Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott and Australian Hugh Jackman.
A film source said: "Everybody who works at Eon Productions, who make the Bond movies, has been told Daniel is the new 007. He is going through the deal with his lawyers."
Pierce Brosnan was reportedly dropped from playing James Bond because he wanted 42 million dollars to reprise the role.
Brosnan said he was "surprised, disappointed and saddened" when he found out the producers' decision.
The star claims his wage "was an honest fee in terms of how much blood, sweat and tears I put into the role".
A spokeswoman for Craig denied the report and refused to comment further. Eon Productions also refused to comment.
The next James Bond movie, Casino Royale, is being directed by Martin Campbell, who first took the helm on Goldeneye in 1995.
Casino Royale was author Ian Fleming's first Bond book and was originally made into a spoof spy flick in 1967, starring Peter Sellers, Woody Allen and David Niven."
