After 5 years, I said goodbye to my M3 coupe E92(?) today and picked my new M4. Was a strange feeling, but having had the M3 for so long I didn't feel guilty saying goodbye at all. New car is a dream so far and looking forward to another 5 year relationship

Lovely bit of kit and a perfect colour choice, I can understand parting with the E92, however if you had a E46.....that would be tough - LOL

You can't beat the feeling of picking up a new car in the sunshine on a work day!! Well done - it looks great. I especially like the wheels.

Thanks guys. It's a Competition Pack, so slightly different wheels and a nominal extra few bhp. It's a weird feeling having a new car again, as I've not bought one for nearly six years, it's all been spent on way too many motorbikes.

congrats on the new car - welcome to the M4 club driving

and a word of warning. launch control provides neither any launch and certainly no control (make sure your test run has plenty of room for massive burnout and sideways rear action!) ive tried 4 times and nearly binned it into a ditch every time lol

Yet to test (or even figure out) the launch control, or half the other techie stuff. Bloody rain is stopping play currently.

Do not waste your time on launch control, better get aways in other modes without stressing the trany.

Well that didn’t last long, as per this thread

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

New one picked up today, slightly improved spec and seriously improved car, drive and house security!

Pretty much the exactly the same as the one that went AWOL

Austin Yellow Com Pack DCT

And a load of options. List price was £50 shy of £70000 with all the options added, so quite a long list. Obviously, that was my insurers problem, not mine smile

My problem was the £7k on extra security for driveway and house to minimise the chances of this happening again.

Very nice!

I was reading about your new security measures too - pretty comprehensive, to say the least.
