Jet engine book recommendations...

looking for my next book to start. I was going to get the latest Rolls Royce one from Amazon. Any others I should consider?

Depends what your interest are and what you've read already?

I enjoyed Jet: Frank Whittle and the Invention of the Jet Engine and Not Much of an Engineer by Sir Stanley Hooker, but both are as much biographies of the men involved as they are technical histories of jet engine development.

In a similar vein, I found Pegasus: the Heart of the Harrier interesting in parts, but a bit dry overall.

Jet Propulsion by Nick Cumpsty is a pretty good on the details of how engines work thermodynamically if you want a level more detail than in the RR book.

Haven't read anything yet. I've been watching quite of few of agentjayz's videos on YouTube which sparked my interest. I wouldn't class myself as a geek so I don't want anything that goes deep into the maths side of them. I did however find the thermal modelling of the compressor blades very interesting.
