Hi all, Is the Cobra tracker (now Vodafone Automotive I believe) the standard tracker on the car as per factory build? I am changing insurance companies and they are insisting on a tracker device. I have no idea which tracker is installed on the car, nor can I find any supporting documents....

Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, they should all have them. Although I have heard a few owners say they don't have a tracker. A few insurerers dont insist on a tracker but 95% do.

Thanks Bispal, I knew you would reply. I have had crazy quotes from £1k - £4k through various insurers and they all require a tracker as standard.

Ok, so the answer it seems is NFU provide insurance without a tracker, while Admiral require a tracker but no activation (so someone has found) which is odd but no harm trying. NFU are the most popular insurer within the owners group, followed by Manning Uk, APlan (recently got more expensive though), Chubb and Admiral. Its important repairs are done by McLaren, only Admiral wont guarantee this however in reality there is little choice and those with Admiral have had repairs done by McLaren, Good luck..
