Hi all,

Just got myself a new tv for the kitchen diner, nothing fancy 32inch Samsung jobber.

The wife wants a music speaker in the room and I'm now thinking does someone make a speaker that will link to the tv and provide extra audio for the tv?

So in dream land it needs to:

Connect to the tv - to play tv audio
Be wireless
Stream Amazon prime music
Look half decent

I've got a sonos play 1 in the living room which I use to stream music, but if im correct doesn't connect to a tv???

Any ideas greatfully recieved

Simon.

Would the Sonos Connect not work?

I have a Denon Heos Homecinema for the TV in the bedroom, connects to the TV and plays my music through Spotify Connect or the Heos app (presumably Amazon music also works). Richer Sounds had it on offer at a bargain £300, the Sonos Soundbar and Sub is 3-4x as much and definitely not 3-4x as good.

Think the A9 might be a tad over budget, prob have a max of £500 for the speaker.

I'll do some digging into the sonos to see if it fits the bill.

Cheers

Just get a samsung soundbar, it will be able to sync with the TV and any phone/tablet/PC for music streaming

Don't think Samsung support Amazon music streaming, only Amazon music which are two different services. The denon looks good, and richer do indeed have a hefty discount at the moment.

Thanks guys

Stream it on your phone then bluetooth it to the speaker?

That would be an option but music stops when you receive calls and texts etc....so not ideal. Would prefer streaming to be supported.

Maybe I'm just asking too much and Bluetooth could be the best option.

I could never go back to Bluetooth, you have to faff around pairing it with your phone and you lose connectivity when straying too far.

Amazon Echo would do the trick, assuming your TV can pump out sound over BT.

And bloody useful in the kitchen too.

Or use a Chromecast audio? They're occasionally on offer for £15 so won't break the bank.

Edit: Just saw the requirement for streaming Amazon audio. Not sure if this is supported by the Chromecast. I use Spotify on mine.

what does support Amazon music ? i would guess a firestick, use the output from a the TV (optical) into a sound bar (of some description) and that should work, Amazon music doesnt seem to be we supported, unlike spoity connect which is everywhere now (and work great)

Sonos supports Amazon, but your right now I've actually had a look it's not that well supported. I really like the look of the Samsung speakers but they don't support Amazon.......looks like i might have to just get another sonos and see where that leads me.

Don't forget you have to buy the expensive Sonos to connect to your TV , I think either the sound bar or a play3 (could be wrong)

That's a good idea, turns your TV into a smart TV and can be powered from the USB port on the telly too.
