Please bear with this........

I have a Sony Bravia TV and a Pioneer AV amp connected together by an HDMI cable. The amp turns on automatically when I turn the TV on and the TV speakers are automatically turned off. The TV remote will then also control the volume of the amplifier. I'm assuming that this is all done through the HDNI cable. All very simple and easy to use.

Now to the real question:

My mother is 94 and quite deaf (even with hearing aids). Consequently she has pretty much destroyed the speakers on her current LG plasma from running it with the volume flat out all the time.

I need to replace the TV with something cheap and simple. Something under £200 and up to 39" screen size. A cheap Chinese television will be fine. However, to get around the problem of her destroying the speakers within days of getting it I also want to buy a cheap sound bar. As she has trouble comprehending anything more than the on/off switch and the volume control I need the TV and sound bar to behave in exactly the same way as my TV and amp do and not have remote controls festooned with a confusing array of buttons. Is this a normal capability these days? Or is it something that can only be done with 'premium' manufacturers kit.

Any advice on suitable kit that would work together in this manner would be appreciated!!
