Club membership.. it is worth it for me?
Discussion
I was an active member for many years, a Regional Organiser and a National Events Coordinator but ultimately I found the club to be aloof and self serving. The magazine is okay, mostly adverts but it's a colour production with reasonable articles. Like with all car clubs they offer discounted prices from their sponsor businesses but I never used those because it was easy to find lower prices by looking around. The local and national events are well organised but monitoring and control of road behaviour is non-existent, in this the TVRCC needs to improve

I saved the cost of the membership with the discount received for the recent Silverstone Classic. I get discount from insurance and from Neil Garner on servicing for being a member as well, works for me you don't have to get involved, up to you.
As I pointed out none of those events or businesses are within a resaonable distance. Driving over 6,000 km to get a service is hardly effective now is it? Plus I doubt any insurers here offer a discount fro being a TVR owners club member.Brithunter said:

I don't know for certain but you could well end up being the TVRCC National Organiser for your location.
Its a personal choice but you wil get all of the news of events, activities and developments in the TVR world via PistonHeads.
In our region we have a number of ex and never been members of TVRCC attending events.
If ever you are in the North East of England drop us a line you will be most welcome.

Pretty much all of the above, especially bobfathers impression.
Basically not an awful lot different from the majority of single marque clubs, cliquey and parochial. Discounts on insurance are applicable on other marques, not just TVR`s, where club membership is required.Good magazine, well edited, but no more than a 10 minute read then its on the pile. It`s not a case of 50 quid or whatever it costs, moreso will you receive any positive input from it.. not for me.
Doubt if I`ll renew next year.

I've been in and out of the TVRCC several times over the years, for reasons much as above. At the moment I'm in, largely to access the 7.5% discount offered to members at TVR Parts.
I also enjoy the active, i.e out driving our cars as they were meant to be driven days, organised either locally or nationally, but I wish there were more moving events these days! Personally I can only take a couple of parking in a field or going for a meal events a year.

I believe the OP is located in Romania. Bulgaria.
So for him it's really mainly a question of whether 'Sprint' is worth the subscription plus postage fees?
Added benefits of the TVRCC website members' section, with access to the archives etc, and notification of future Club events should he plan to visit the UK occasionally to attend.
As pointed out, he could be the National Organiser for TVRCCRomania Bulgaria and plan all sorts of interesting events, meets and road trips. He would also be the TVRCC Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and roving reporter for all of Romania. Think of the POWER!
His experiences would make for some great articles in Sprint.
I believe there are some awesome roads over there?
Otherwise, it's a case of mostly keep up to date here on PH.
OP, Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck with your future TVR Ownership experience.
Edited after checking OP's profile.

I am also a great fan of the 'driving out' events and as luck would have it, we have quite a few coming up: I also enjoy the active, i.e. out driving our cars as they were meant to be driven days, organised either locally or nationally, but I wish there were more moving events these days! All or any part of the 'Back Home >>New Home TVRCC event this month.
Our TVR S Club Tour of Scotland in September.
The Wentworth Woodhouse "Season Finalé" Run Out on Sat 30th September.
The High Peak Nomads TVRCC Welsh Tour in October.
The Goth Run to Whitby.
Next year's "Thrills in the Hills" on Sat 26th May 2018. ( A "must do", although we only had 100 TVRs on the run this year, hopefully we will see a few more next year. There are already 27 people subscribed for 2018.

I even enjoy the less exotic S Club drives for breakfast at Wellesbourne or Shelsley Walsh,
and our trips to Classic Le Mans or Spa Classic, not forgetting our wonderful Eurotours

So for me, it's a big "Yes" for Club membership.

Oops! I forgot to mention the Club trackday at Cadwell on Monday 4th September. Unfortunately I shall be away with my TVR in Scotland on that date. Bugger!

The club discounts on parts pay for my subscription. Even though the OP lives in Bulgaria, he's still going to need to buy bits from somewhere, and I bet it won't be from anywhere local to him.So for him it's really mainly a question of whether 'Sprint' is worth the subscription plus postage fees?

Hopefully by buying a well sorted Chimaera we won't be buying many parts for it soon! Oh yes I could go overboard on upgrades:-Let's see:-
Clives T Piece and stainless manifolds
Opened up plenum 72mm or maybe dueal throttle bodies?
CNC machined Plenum base with throated inlet
Smooth induction tubing and performance filtration.
Blinged up engine bay, covers etc all nice and shiney painted
Ohh Big brakes!!!!!!!!
that's just off the top of my head.
