Banned after seizure

On February 16th I had a seizure. Had all the tests and specialists put it down to exhaustion.
So, of course I had to send my licence back to Swansea as it's a 6 month ban.
3 weeks ago I received a form to reapply for my driving licence, which I promptly returned.
How good are they on actually sendinng my licence back for the 16 August. Any chance of it coming back a bit earlier does anyone know?

Knowing Swansea and they're like, I wouldn't be holding my breath. Anything they want you to have seems to arrive quickly, anything else seems to have less priority.
I'd ring them on the 9th and see how they're getting on and emphasise the importance of why you need it back sooner rather than later. Sometimes having a good story helps things along.

Normally a single seizure does not count. I surrendered my licence after a tonic-clinic seizure, my doctor said "that was a bit hasty". However I had subsequent ones 6 months later and others. That was October 2007 and got it back 2010, on a 3 year renewal each time from now. That 3 year surrender was the rule then for sleep-only seizures, it is now only 12 months (grrrh!) Last (again sleep-only) was in Oct 2011. I have had nothing since, and retired in 2012. My neurologist has put it all down to inadequate sleep and stress. I have been reducing medication for last 2 years, and by the end of this year I hope to be medication-free.So, of course I had to send my licence back to Swansea as it's a 6 month ban.

One point, it is not a 'ban' it is either a 'revocation' or a 'voluntary surrender'.
Also, with some comments about driving styles, etc, on other sites, people need to realise driving is a privilege, and not to be abused.
As mine was a 3 year surrender, I re-applied in good time, and got it back effective from the actual date.
A point of note. Prior to that point of surrender I was entitled to drive up to 7.5 tonne. When it came back, the new rule for new drivers of only up to 3.5 tonne applied. A bit annoyed about that, even though I have no real need to drive 7.5 tonne. At least I kept my full A motorcycle licence.

There is a difference, you can drive if you meet the criteria, previously surrendered your licence, and have re-applied, but not received your licence back, then Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 allows you to drive if the 'time-off' has passed.https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...
I had a seizure and wasn't required to hand my licence in. Consultant advised it was as a result of scar tissue tightening after a brain tumour was removed and wouldn't occur again. I was put on anti-seizure drugs for a short while and advised not to drive unless completely rested for a few weeks.Never happened again. This was 12 years ago.
