I know this is a bit out there but, I haven't had a roast dinner in ages so I said to the misses shall we have one tonight, just do an easy one with no fussing i.e mash with easy veg and chicken. To which she replied "I can do Aunt Bessies roasties instead of real ones to save time if you want" (other brands are available ). I said "thats like comparing a 335d to an M3" !!!!! Just putting it out there to see what other peoples opinions are on the best way of having a humble potato ????

How do you mean gary29, Seems a strange way of putting it ?????
Well first, you have to dig them out of the ground, and scrub all the mud off their skin.....For that you have to whip out your tool and give it a damn good pounding. Once its all soft and squishy, add a nice big knob
of butter and give it another good going over.

just whack some halved new potatoes in a roasting tin with some oil, salt and pepper until their crispy on the outside. Shake them every ten minutes or so and should only take 40 minutes max at 180ish. You don't need to go through the faff of peeling, par-boiling & preheating oils/gooses fat/whale blubber
Aunt bessies are definitely a no no
