So I did whilst at the lights 'forgetting' that we were in the midst of heard of eastbourne elders on their way out of the theatres which had kicked out. All I saw was an elderly couple almost topple, in three jump-stagger-nearly-fall-over-steps (poor sods, I was praying they didnt take my plate) when suddenly out of bloody nowhere blue lights behind me started flashing, the bib pulled out in a van Id not spotted and raced off into town in persuit of someone more in need of a telling off than I.

That was too close for my liking.

Serve you right you little hooligan.....;p

Actually...in all seriousness ..if there are any elderly folk about if we are just about to start our
Cerb, I do now always warn them that 'it is a bit loud on startup' !!!!!

This is because one poor lady, in the process of extricating herself from the back seats of a Sierra, actually fell back in when the Peril started up!

The family were not too impressed to say the least and since then I always prewarn peeps with elderly rellies or small kids........

Still....when she was first advertised the advert did say that she would give grannies heart attacks.....
little did we know he wasn't kidding...........

Yours does have straight through pipes though Pauline! At the very second that I saw this elderly couple jump-falling backwards (They really nearly did fall!) your story did flash through my mind!

I was close to a heart attack myself fearing my plate would be taken (wasnt thinking) made worse by the blue lights going on behind me Not sure who got the biggest fright, you really do need to take it easy around old people.

Ive had half a dozen incidents now, the public egging me on etc, almost getting caught making too much noise or some such when the bib were right around the corner.

when I had the cats off the tuscan I blipped the throttle when I was driving along. About 100 yards in front was an old bloke walking along.

He promptly jumped 3 feet sideways into a hedge.

The usual girlie groupies all shriek un unison with a few well timed extra good bangs is a giggle (referring to driving the cerb, that is)

You do feel like a tit though, reving the nuts off your TVR with the cops, how do I say... directly behind you

We have a very elderly neighbour who has a matching gorgeous scruffy hound which she occasionally takes for a hobble. I have to check they arent around when I start the beast, and if I spy them when I am driving along I back off the throttle. I am sure the sound of my Tusc at full chat would do for the pair of them.
All others are fair game though.

Is that so it cracks on the overrun and spits part-burned hydrocarbons into their airspace?

I was waiting for the ... "and then it went bang!"

I must say I do miss the 130+ dB the S used to kick out when at full chat, but I also like being able to hear the stereo, and get out of the car without ringing in my ears. Still if the funds allow, a semi sleved exhaust will not be out of the question.

I went through a tunnel the other day and after exiting the girlfriend said:

"It doesn't sound as good as the other one, there's no cool popping sounds." This is courtsey of ACT and Mark Adams who have developed the car for the best running possible.

One of lifes big regrets is not getting to hear your old S before you sold her on
