I bought one of these the other day, just for use when we go away in the caravan. But having tried it out at home I think its brilliant.
So far I've cooked a pork joint, chicken, oven chips, roast veg and a frozen strudel. One neat thing I like is its self clean function. Pour in some hot water, a squirt of washing up liquid and hit the clean button. Seems that it will cook anything that you would normally cook in the oven. It even has a toasting rack. It claims to be cheaper to use than a traditional oven, probably because its a smaller area to heat?
Mines an Andrew James model with the hinged lid. Im very impressed, and its staying in the kitchen until we go away in the caravan.

The air-fryer ring is a good addition too.

Great for doing things like Sossie Rolls, Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast and all other "snacky/starter" type things. Always come out lovely and crisp.
Frozen Onion Rings are lush too

Took me a while to work out that you have the main bowl inside the extension ring.
Never thought of storing it there
I don't want to clutter cupboard space with the extension ring. For anyone that doesn't know, the hinged lid is height extendable, with the extension ring adding to the height of the bowl. This extends the volume of the bowl and lifts the heat bulb away from large items such as joints of meat etc.Never thought of storing it there

As for comparing with the main oven, I think it heats up quicker due to it being a smaller space to heat. It has an 'auto off' function as soon as you open the lid. but you can open is slightly to get a spatula/spoon in there to stir, without it switching off.
