Indeed it was. I bid £10 on it for a laugh and then it was withdrawn!

I asked the buyer what the deal was before the advert was pulled. Later I got an email from ebay warning of the dangers of buying outside of ebay. Then I got this response to my question from the owner -

Hello
I am glad to see how many people are interested in
buying my car .
1st I want to tell you that it is the ORIGINAL thing
and looks just like in the pictures. It is in
immaculate condition and has no scratches on and
hasn't been involved in any accident.
The motor runs very well. the tires are almost new.The
car is very fast and extremely furious. The
description I had on ebay is accurate. I am willing to
sell it for £ 6,400 as i stated on ebay .if you are
interested please let me know asap as i have
restricted bidding due to non-paying bidders , and i
don't have a buyer yet .
The car belonged to my brother.Unfortunately he died
three weeks ago in a bike accident.
The car is now in Rome ,Italy as my brother lived
here and I am now here as I took care of the funerals.
Because this is a large transaction I want to do it
with Square Trade's support . It is recommended by
ebay and it's a third party service that holds the
funds until item is delivered, inspected and accepted
.I will require a £1,400 deposit
with the balance when the car arrives at your door and
you get to inspect it.
I know that the price is low but I have no use for the
car and I want to get back home as soon as I sell it.
I want to sell it asap so I am willing to pay the
shipping fees no matter the destination.
if you have the deposit available, and ready to buy ,
email me your full name and shipping address so I can
send it to Square Trade to begin the transaction.
Will give you a 7 days inspection period before the
money is released to me.
let me know asap !

Sounds dodgy to me!

I got exactly the same e-mail. I'm trying to think of a suitably witty response. Any ideas?
