Storing old games data on an Xbox1

My daughter just loaded the old Mass Effect 1 onto our Xbox 1, and all seemed well until she started to play, and it told her she can only save data to external drive, the Cloud.
Is there any way been discovered to save to the Xbox1 hard drive yet? I googled it, can't find any answer, but lots of people asking the same question.
Maybe it works perfectly well, but there is only 2gb available and she isn't worried it will not be enough.
I'm a PS4 kinda guy myself......

Game saves will be just a few kb or MB at most. I wouldn't worry about the limit.
