Currently running a 11 plate BMW 520d m sport. I am enjoying the space and comfort but am been bored to death by the unrefined diesel engine.

Space requirements, I have a baby and 2 kids under ten. So back seat space is important.

I want a fairly new car, petrol, prefer manual, bonus points if it's brisk.

Budget is up to 11k. Means taking a loss on the beamer, but for the right motor, I would.

Octavia VRs?

It should have sufficient space for your needs..

The petrol ones are few and far between though.

V70R or S60R? Again, manual petrol may be hard to find, but they do exist.

Focus ST estate, some pre-fl may be creaping into your price bracket.

It's what i'm looking to replace my 320d with. (totally agree about the engine btw, good power, but my god it's not refiend!)

There are a few 550 touring manuals out there. Might be a bit old for you.
