Calling out bigoted remarks

I called out someone for using homophobic language in the Renault Zoe thread, and the original post was edited by an Admin and my post removed - only noticed this as I was automatically emailed.

That's fair enough - Just wondering what the line is on stuff like this and the reasoning why the item was edited rather than allowing nobs like that to be called out.

Obviously I understand things could potentially head downhill rapidly if homophobic / racist / sexist etc etc remarks are left in but do people get "three strikes and their out" behind the scenes? Just wondering if removing the comment alone actually does anything in the long term.

In simple terms, we'd rather be the ones doing the telling off after deleting the comments

It depends on the severity of the case but can go from a slap on the wrist to a full ban. If someone repeat offends, as you say, they'll be banned.
