Audi A5 Sportback as a family car
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I'm in the market for a new Audi A5 Sportback to replace my VW Golf GTD. Looking to canvass some opinions on the suitability of this car for a small family with just a 2 year boy.
I want to know if anyone have the same car with simialr family situation and how do you find it with car seats, buggy etc.
Cheers in advance!

I've got a new shape S5 sportback, but my son is older at 12 so doesn't need a car seat any more.
I would have said that yes, it should be fine as a family car, it's certainly very comfortable and refined from a driving point of view and there looks to me more than enough room in the rear.
ISOFIX It is definitely a positive two should be fine for fitting car seats as long as they are ISOFIX friendly.
The boot I'm sure would be perfectly big enough for buggies and baby stuff.
Audi were happy to lend me the car for an afternoon extended test drive, so I would suggest approaching your local dealer and asking to do the same, this should give you a much better idea of its suitability.

Love hunting the classifieds for my next car - and the new shape Audi A5 (or possibly S5) is a tab I keep returning to. Currently have an F11 BMW 523i Touring which the family loves, but we don't need quite such a long car. Its straight six is still a lovely thing - not sure the 2.0 will sound as nice in the A5. Hence the S5 attraction. But, bit stiff riding for a family car?
I’m on my second S5 sportback, and have had 2 kids aged 5 and 8 when I got the first one.
The boot is bigger than the 2007 S4 I had previously when both kids were babies.
Never had any issues with buggy or child seats in that time, and the sportback deffo more practical in terms of wider boot opening.
Also, don’t forget kids will climb into the car themselves once they can walk, you don’t have to lift them into child seats, and if they’re anything like mine, they were that independent they hated being put in the seat. Even used to put their belts on with final checks by me.
