I know how to insert a picture in a thread using tags but I've always found hyperlinking or whatever its called a bit complicated.

In this thread :- https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I've used the "quote all" to see how its done but what is the symbol between his wording and the start of the http://

On my keyboards the "|" symbol is to the left of the letter "Z" and requires the shift key.

The other easy thing to do is copy and paste the relevant codes from the 'formatting help' link in the posting window, then paste your own title and text in.

I always use the other way which is
{url=what you want hyperlink to say in blue}www.webpagetolinkto.co.uk{/url}

Changed Square to curly parentheses so you can see what I'm typing and not the result

You can always use the code facility to show that

www.webpagetolinkto.co.uk

Equals

www.webpagetolinkto.co.uk

I've always done my hotlinks the other way round - it seems looking at the result above it works if you want to describe it

what you want hyperlink to say in blue

It appears there are two ways of doing it on PH

Was looking for that, obviously didn't look all the way down to the bottom!

No probs - this forum does have some weird functionality (ie stuff that only works here)

For instance I've never done a hyperlink anywhere with the first version

text|url

Seems weird to me but it actually works....

what you want hyperlink to say in blue

Another oddball is you can only use the code function once in a post or it reverts to

[NOWIKI]

Which is also rather irritating
