GTR fit in a GTR?

daft question but im going to ask it anyway. saw that some of the racers are using the BMW in-line 6's. just wondered if the GTR engine would fit? i know the Supra engineis too long but the Skyline is quite a bit shorter.

well if a BMW V12 can be made to fit and there is a race car using the M3 engine..... I'd say yes, if your prepared to do the development.

As long as you do the maths and are prepared for a lot of extra engineering work you can pretty much make anything fit.

I've been investigating / planning for 2 years to get a V12 into a GTR before I started building and can tell you the biggest problem with any engine is length - once you have that solved the rest is relatively straight forward.

I've had to shorten my engine 6" by relocating cooling / thermostat housings, pulleys, covers etc and designing a very trick way of mating the box to engine to avoid a thick adapter plate.

Driveshaft angle is your enemy....

The main question that will always be up for debate however is why you want to do it and if the engine suits the car.
