I have VW golf mk5 2.0 tdi. I've been having a few problems with the clutch but it doesn't happen all the time so I'm wondering (hoping) if something needs tightening up. It drives fine when I'm moving no problems at all its spot on but when I come to a stop it's sometimes hard to get out of gear or if I keep my clutch down with it in gear it's still biting and wants to move but this doesn't happen all the time.
Anybody had any similar issues?

Cheers

Your clutch isn't clearing and is dragging on the flywheel, this might be a hydraulic issue with the slave or master cylinder or the release bearing is collapsing (also a part of the slave cylinder).

A last ditch effort to avoid pulling the gearbox out and fixing it might be to try bleeding the clutch through with new fluid in case you have some air in there.

Thanks for the reply. Is that not a big problem then if it's hydraulic? I had it MOT'd yesterday and it must have done it when they moved it around and they said i either need a new clutch and or the dmf doing. Really don't want to be spending £700 when it doesn't seem that bad?

Yeah it needs proper diagnosis but it's unlikely it can be fixed without taking the gearbox out in any case because you have to do that to get at the clutch, and if the mechanic is doing all that strip and refit work it makes sense to replace the clutch kit including concentric slave cylinder and the DMF which will set you back a fair bit... £700 as you said would be likely.
You can put it off for a while if you can still go through the gears OK but if the clutch starts dragging badly it won't do your gearbox any favours
