Circle Line Pubcrawl
Discussion
Starting at 11AM tomorrow, Fri 8 April, at the Ship and Shovel near Embankment. After the normal pathetic excuses there are only 6 of us. One friend is the Chairman of his local Conservative party and reckons he has found more important things to do, another is a trial witness, another is signed off work for stress, etc etc.
28 half pints in an afternoon/evening can't be too hard. Am taking a disposable camera in case it gets interesting.

Job done.
Time just disappeared, it didn't seem like 9 ot 10 hours. We stopped for a proper sit down hot meal just after halfway round. The tour was physically harder than a round of golf, up and down those stairs 28 times. Drank a big bottle of water before bed so didn't feel too bad this morning.
Two of our party were "surfing" on the tube standing up the whole way round not using the grap rails or hang straps. The same two celebrated completion by going on to have a few beers!
The landlords said that circle liners are sometimes much younger and less well behaved now. One stupid trend is to take a momento from each pub visited. This stealing and the bad behaviour mean that some pubs refuse to serve circle liners, one wouldn't serve us and we were quite respectable.
The consensus was that it was an excellent fun day out and everyone wants to repeat it next year.

I did this a few years ago. Started at Sloane Square and went clockwise. It all went well until we were about 3/4 of the way round when we got on the eastbound District Line at Tower Hill (god knows how!!!) and then try as we might but it took us AGES to find a pub at Monument.
Got round eventually, and then we started the main drinking session. I ended up waking up on the lounge floor in a strange house in Putney. When I got up and walked through to the kitchen they were all sitting there snorting coke and I didn't recognise anyone at all!
I made my excuses and ran away!
Great night though!
