Just got a couple of questions if anyone can spare a minute.

My speedo is all over the place (anologue and digital). Is it an easy job to change the speed sensor? I'm quite good with my hands (so I've been told).

Also I have sleeved the cans which made a big improvement to the sound but do the CCC cans sound better again? It sounds a bit tinny at the moment, after something a bit deeper like my Cerbera.

Thanks for any advice.

CCC cans still sounded tinny and "raspy" on their own on my Tuscan - really wasn't happy with the noise one bit. De-catting it fixed that completely... lovely deep burble at idle and low-mid revs. High revs were still a bit too much of a Nascar howl for me, but it was 200% better. Also saves you replacing your cats when they get fried. With (and possibly even without) a new ECU, it should still get through its MOT no problem.

Thanks for that, did you de-cat it yourself? where did you get the straight pipes from and the ECU?

My Speedo started to get very erratic, jumping all over the place. Changed the sensor but that wasn't the fault. Speedo sent away for re calibration, awaiting return, hopefully tomorrow.

Had TVR Power do it... they just take your existing cats and basically punch the middles out. ECU was from them, too. To be fair, you should be able to de-cat it yourself if you feel like it... think Peninsula sell pipes.

Big Al.

How easy is a DIY de-cat? Has anyone got a step by step guide they could post please?

The speedo problem is nearly always down to a dodgy transducer. Why did they send your speedos away?

Transducer fitted is abot £70 (if you have to pay).

Never paid much attention to that part of the Tuscan's underside. If you've got a decent set of a spanners and a high tolerance to back-ache you could probably do it with a trolley jack and some axle stands. I'd probably recommend borrowing a garage with a hoist, mind... should just be a matter of unbolting everything and switching the cats for the pipes. Then again, getting your local garage to fit a set wouldn't be more than an hour's labour, I wouldn't have thought...
