Ordered a TVR Bible that covers the Chimaera
Discussion
I learnt my full mechanical skill set from Haynes
So as you can imagine my skills don't stretch to far but even I found the bible not the most comprehensive of books to read.
It does contain lots of important info so worth it when your starting out and a decent intro into ownership.
You'll find most of the answers to your questions either on here or just as likely on Facebook!

Hmmm Haynes manuals well we won't get drawn into their forbiles now. I learnt a lot from my father who learnt a lot at work and in the Army during WW2. Rebuilt British bikes re-ringed ford cross flows, done head gaskets, replaced clutches, fitted king in bushes and even rebored single cylinders on a lathe and re srfaced/skimmed heads. Back then skimming and truing brake discs and drums was a common job so long before I started messingwith the MGF's have a fair bit or experience of "home Mechanics".
The Chimaera that we are waiting for a pre purchase inspection report on has undergone a fairly substantial refurbishment so apart from servicing there should be not a lot of need for the book but as I am new the TVR's it seemed like an excellent idea to get it.

It's a good idea - first source of info and a useful guide. It is particularly good at the earlier models too, as it was written in the early days of the Chimaera and updated later. I have one and never a week goes by when I don't refer to it.
That's interesting It helped me identify my paricular fuse box and relay locations but I found the electrical diagrams tough on my eyes. Need a magnifying glass.
I'm not disputing its good for all sorts of important data

Yes, it doesn't cover everything, but it has a lot of useful information

Ahhh I was not aware that it was not so thank you for the heads up so I really need to get a manual on the Rover V8 engine as well so any suggestions on a good one?
I got a CD version of the "Workshop Service Repair Manual for the P38A Range Rover Years 1995-2000" on EBay. I think the seller was called Workshop and Service Manuals. You might try Google to get hold of them. Was able to strip and rebuild my engine using it. Very helpful with all the data you need.

I'm sure you meant to say you were garage buying with house.
Steve
Nope our house has no garage so one has got to be built. An open sided barn will be converted into a workshop as it has the height for a vehicle lift/ramp Steve
The house we agreed to buy yesterday has a garage with inspection pit but that one is a smaller house and for another family member. The house cost less that an engine rebuild on a Rover V8 .................................... and no am not joking.Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
