Selling Guitars - eBay or Reverb?
Discussion
When i sold a couple recently, I used eBay and Facebook. The latter is especially useful now it has a proper way of selling items via the Marketplace, although I had no issues selling on either site in terms of idiots.
These weren't high-price ones though, so if your ones are the big bucks then Reverb might well be better. I have no experience of that though, sorry.

Everything I've ever seen on Reverb indicates to me that the seller thinks it's worth far more than the market does.
Likely the place you'd list and show your partner that you are of course trying to sell it, it's just the right buyer hasnt turned up yet.
If you want to sell it on the third to tenth message Facebook groups. If it's a bit beaten up and you want shot, eBay.

I've been looking on eBay recently and it seems to me that sellers there are very optimistic about the value of their guitars. So much so that when I wanted a LH demonstrator I bought a new one (admittedly for trade price but that's not a big discount compared to online retail prices).

If you don't mind me asking, what are you selling?
Nothing special - Jackson Dinky Minion which my youngest has now out-grown, and an 80s MIJ Ibanez Roadstar I rarely play - just looking for a fair price from someone who'll enjoy them.
Fair to say the eBayers I've dealt with for music stuff have all been great so far... consumer electronics appears to be another demographic entirely though...

Thanks for all the comments about Reverb; I'll let them run on eBay for a bit and try FB if no luck.
I've sold gazillions of guitars on eBay and never had the slightest problem with any of them - I've even managed to reunite a couple with their previous owners.
However I only deal with UK buyers, and it's strictly collection only. I don't like packing or posting high-value items and if I'm willing to drive a few miles to pick up something nice, then I don't see why others shouldn't as well.
