V8S Suspension Setup figures source
Discussion
Hi All
I'm having my geometry looked at and I wanted to refer back original figures. I found this and I recall seeing it a while ago :
http://tvrcarclubholland.nl/wp-content/uploads/for...
Is this the correct source of the V8S data as its also referencing the 400 SE model too?
If not, has anyone got another resource for the V8S running gear setup?
Cheers

I don't know if that source was intended to be quoting figures for the V8S but I'd be wary of taking any advice that suggests the V8S uses the same suspension geometry as a wedge, because there are substantial differences between these cars. If I'm reading it right that page is specifying zero camber at the front, which strikes me as very strange.
There is no absolute right or wrong setting, but the most appropriate geometry will depend to some extent on how the rest of the car is set up and what you use it for. Is it on road tyres, standard springs and dampers at the normal ride height and used mainly for touring and casual driving on A/B class roads?

Well I think I'd like to review the factory settings out of interest.
My set up is pretty stock I think so it wouldn't be far away from this as a basis. I'll chat to the TVR garage anyway to see if they have any ideas. The last place I went to about 5 years ago used that Haynes one in the link to set my car up. I had no reason at the time to question him so that's where it probably is now.
It'll all be standard ride height, dampers, standard tyres and mainly used A/B roads yes. Only thing is a slightly increased spring stiffness
How'd you have your car set up?

I'm running much stiffer springs than original and about three degrees negative camber all round. Nothing special about these figures, they're just where ongoing trial and error have brought me over the years for my car, my handling preferences and the type of driving I usually do. I'd expect to see a much softer setup and less than half that camber on a car used more for touring. Main thing IMO to be wary of is running the car too low - which gives a very aggressive appearance but can mess up the front geometry.Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
