I'm stuck for ideas of something to do in the evenings and weekends, male in his 20's no kids but a partner

Everything in this county is either shopping or a country house.

What other ideas could I get into to feel some stimulation in the evenings (oooerrrr)

Not into the gym, based in South wales

I know you said you're not in the gym, but there's some great scenery near you so what about mountain biking? You don't have to go mad to get a half decent bike these days.

Or get a cheap hot hatch and do some trackdays? You could prepare and modify it in the evenings then track it at the weekend.

Photography Classes?

Learn to fly by getting a PPL? There's tonnes of study that could take up your evenings.

Mountain or road cycling, hill walking, scale model making, learn to play instrument, restore classic car, start a business, shooting

So much you can do!

Just get on and do something though! Otherwise you will be like me, in my 30's with 3 kids and struggle to fit taking a dump into to my day!

Try some evening classes. If you don't know what to try, just try any thing.

Reading or/and writing are cheap and you could do them at home.

Is there anything that you and OH can do together (other than the obvious). Shared interest and all that.

How about this as a suggestion.....

https://www.roundtable.co.uk/

I joined 10 years ago, met people who I wouldn't normally mix with, had a ball doing activities I would not have thought of doing, bit of fundraising at Christmas....

I've forged friendships for life with some of the guys in our Table.

If you're under 25, I believe the first two years are free....

Any sporting activities you could learn at a club? Tennis, squash, table tennis, pool/snooker?

Sailing.

Find you local club and get sailing - it doesn't cost much (you don't need your own boat).

Evening sailing? With spot lights on the yacht or something?

I am older at 46 but now the kids are grown up (allegedly) I needed a bit of a hobby, I applied as a Race Marshall but didnt hear anything despite being told there is a shortage, saw an ad for volunteering working on old planes (see the RJX thread in the Boats and Planes bit) and its great fun, dont want to do it every week as have stuff to do at home, but every other week works for me.

Few years back I took up clay pigeon shooting - pretty easy to get into and great fun.

I also became a parish councillor - a fair amount of time but very a rewarding feeling of 'putting something back in'. There are always local 'public service' things to do be it official like a Councillor / JP or something like helping out a a local scout group, charity or rugby club.

Quite a good social side with all of the above and they allow you to meet a wide range of people.

This.

Clay shooting is very easy and inexpensive to get into. A nice beginners shotgun can be had for around £300, and about the same amount of money again for the cabinet, licence and other bits to get you started.

You may also be suprised at the number of good clay shooting grounds near you. They are everywhere these days.

Failing that, other hobbies I really enjoy are:

Photography
Motorbikes
Tinkering with cars (of course)
Keeping and rearing pheasants (excuse to ride around on a quad bike and be like a farmer)
