PCM satnav a few miles out!

anyone had this? Is there a ctrl + alt + delete type reset solution?

Satnav works fine when programming but the satellite must have taken a knock as my car is currently in the middle of the Thames whilst parked outside my house - this make using the map rather tricky.

It's an 08 turbo with PCM2.1 with a non-OEM disc which worked fine up until a week ago, then the world moved on its axis by a mile odd

Any suggestions ?

Could be interference, suggest you check your location using the gps in your phone see if it is the same. If the same then interference is likely, if not them something might be broken.

phone is fine, its the PCM or the disc

Had this many years ago on a vectra C

Ended up it was the receiver for the
Gps was faulty

Probably caused by multi-path errors - if you Google it, there are detailed explainations

This is what happened on my 2.1 pcm a few years ago. It happened after windscreen was replaced and the antenna needed replacing as was damaged during screen fitting.

Take the plastic scuttle panels off (I can do it so must be easy!) and check the plug into antenna on the near side. It may be loose?

how do you remove the panel, is the plug obvious? (no recent windscreen change btw)

will certainly give that a go, hopes are not high

ETA - well that didn't work - pressing MAP just flips map on and off and does not solve the issue

This happened to my 958 Cayenne. They checked the windscreen, wiring, aerial, etc. but still issues. In the end they replaced the unit which sorted the issue. Thankfully under warranty as would otherwise have been "around £2k" according to the dealer...

Reset a PCM 2.1 by pressing 1, 4 & 8 simultaneously.

You can check the satellite reception without getting your hands dirty; check the 'status' in the Navigation menu; it will show current location; no. of satellites etc.

The calibration can cumulatively go out of sync - have you had tyres replaced on the car recently?? On earlier versions there was a reset menu specifically for tyre change..... not sure if 2.x had it (certainly there on PCM 1)

no tyre change, but had a recent detailing which may have included rain X or similar on windscreen - might that interfere with antenna?
