A "Wheel" Problem Steering

Now there is nothing wrong with my steering wheel. In fact the longer I live with it the more I like it. However, being the sort of chap that likes to change things... Has any one fitted a new steering wheel, alloy/wood? Currently sorcing I like the look of MOMO Fighter Wood Steering Wheel 350 mm at www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Steering_Wheels.html#a3319

Any thoughts?

Whilst some people want to modify the living daylights out of the S series (don't mention rear lights)

It is now a classic car IMHO and keeping it standard is a factor in keeping value, I love my Chim wheels that came with the car but they are Chim wheels not the proper OZ, if you see where I'm comming from

But 15" Chim wheels were a standard option on the S

I think they only became an option on the V8S and S4's though Derek, not sure they were around when the S2/S3's were being built, I could be wrong. So doubt it if they were an option on your car? But check and let us know.

My V8S came with the 15" Chim wheels as standard. But that aside I agree, why oh why won't people leave these glorious cars alone? Gilding the lilly or what?

Have a look at my profile, and you will see just the wheel you have described. It is lovely both visually and to use. I think it suits the car very well.

Alright, yes I did have that in mind and I have been out in a modified S2 to see what it was like but I bought a banger, unlike Ro who looked at loads and presumably bought a good example.

That said, I'm rethinking my strategy because the V8 sounds nicer IMHO and I may take my one back to original (apart from the Chim wheels)and sell it later as a pretty good example, so I will have done my bit to preserve the marque.

Derek I did look at loads. And I am still really glad I went for an S3. Even the chap who was looking for me (a self confessed V8 snob! In the nicest possible way ) said that my car was "quite the quickest S3 he had ever driven" The irony is that I didn't buy it for its speed. Just the sound.

A V8 would do nothing more for me than my S3. So that's why I felt it was important to concentrate on specifically the S3 (what I wanted - to narrow the field). If I had wanted a V8 and bought an S3 , then the car would have never made me smile as it does. IMHO
