I'm due for two new tyres on the front and I'd like to start changing over from the P Zeros I have now to MPS4S, I plan to put the very good P Zeros off the rear onto the front and put the Michelins on the back. Now I've always thought this was fine as long as no mixing on an axle, but comments online seem to range from "OMG think of the children" or "you'll kill us all" to "meh mix them up how you like"

What do you guys think?

The 'quattro tyres must be changed in sets of 4' is ancient and only ever really existed to let Audi sell more tyres.

What you should watch for though is uneven wear between the axles. Not really advisable to have 3mm depth on the front & 7-8mm on the rear or vice versa.

If wear's close then not an issue.
