Porsche 987 Boxster 2.9 (2010)

Hi Everyone,
First post, and appreciate any advice in advance.
I recently purchased a 2010 Boxster 2.9, having been through a bit of a nightmare, I put the car into Porsche Edinburgh and have had a new clutch, new air conditioning condensers, air con recharged, new cross over pipes as they had corroded, new rear brake pipes, 4 new tyres, I changed the plugs, brake fluid, had a major service and minor things like new wipers and replaced the Boxster badge. (Dealer I bought it from was a tad unhelpful to say the least, however car is now at Porsche standard).
My query is this, the car is very quick when its at a higher speed, and handles absolutely beautifully, however as this is my first Porsche, It doesn't seem to be lightning quick off the mark, I had an SLK 350 previously it was an '06 and had an auto box and was very very quick, the car seems to come to life anywhere over 3000 rpm, however getting to that initial 20 - 30 mph mark, I wouldn't say Is slow, but just not entirely what id have imagined from Porsche. Any advice from seasoned Porsche owners is really appreciated.

Did you buy it priced to reflect a slipping clutch, aircon not working, needing a major service and four new tyres?First post, and appreciate any advice in advance.

Brilliant, thanks for the advice, I feel much better now.
Had the car circa 4 weeks, and literally drove it about 3 times in that period! 2 of those occasions was to Porsche Edinburgh, and home from Porsche Edinburgh, the journey back from the garage was far more pleasing! lol
Looking forward to getting out on some nice roads and actually having some fun now. I do love the noise that it makes, particularly as engine is pretty much behind my head, it is very different to the SLK I had, where I sometimes felt it sounded a little 'fake', the Porsche makes a lovely grumble round about the 3k rpm and continues through, its very satisfying, and seems more raw.

I had a similar adjustment to make when I bought my first Boxster, a 2.5.
Coming from diesel hatchbacks and "normal cars", I realised I was changing up too early.
I now have a Cayman with the 2.9 engine like your Boxster, and it tends to come alive north of 3500rpm. Always seem to need to be in a gear lower than I'd thought natural.
