I started doing our local parkrun at the beginning of the year and have to say i'm really enjoying it, PB 22.37 which I'm pretty chuffed about. It seems to have brought out a bit of competitive edge in me that I don't get running on my own.

So, can anyone suggest a programme to improve my time. I'm in the 45-49 years old age group and my local parkrun (Dunfermline) is notoriously hilly with one hill in particular which separates the men from the boys, the same hill is repeated 3 times.

Thanks in advance,

Craig

Fartlek training improved my running considerably, I am also run Park Run, though the ones I do are flat (Bushy Park and Cannon Hill Park)

It taught me to be more comfortable with high effort during my longer runs, i.e up hills. It also gave me the mental wherewithal to deal with the recovery from the effort during longer runs.
