Pizza Oven Stand....
Discussion
I’ve been following the Pizza Oven thread so I thought I’d share my latest project which was to make a stand for my Roccbox. I originally wanted an Oak Barrel but decided they were too expensive new and that building something myself would not only be more cost effective but I could indulge myself in an idea I had to create something retro from the ‘70s
So……. I bought a used Oil drum. This one previously contained Fruit syrup…

Because the lid comes off. The Gas bottle fits inside, so I need an access hole to turn the gas on/off and I don’t need to cut an access door in the back.

I bought this edge cover from eBay. Pence per meter but it’ll protect your arms.

And really, it’s as simple as that. Now the fun bit, deciding on what your theme is and painting it to suit. I gave it a de-grease with a petrol dipped rag and then used a radiator roller and hammarite smooth…..

Add the first of the stickers…

Nearly done….

And Finished…

RoccBox fits perfectly on top…

I’ve already got plans for another…will post that up when it’s finished……

Very nice Krusty. Potting shed skills
I'd be tempted to punch out three slots on the lid, rivet a shelf/lip to the drum. Tidy up the slots with the left over edging then lower the Rocco in slightly. Not too much obviously. Just enough to make it all look integrated and probably a little more secure.
However, I'm aware I can often put too much icing on a cake
Either way I'd be happy to have it.
