The man who started Thunder City has died aged just 59.
Although there was controversy over maintenance standards Thunder City was an achievement. A private airforce of about 5 airworthy Hunters, plus 3 Buccaneers and 4 Lightnings. The last Buccaneers and Lightnings to fly anywhere in the world.
Mike himself was civilian trained, no professional jet experience so far as I know. Yet worked his way up to fly all three jets. Then he decided to learn to fly helicopters and (it's said) did his first solo on a Puma.
