S5 Convertible - No Ignition Power After Installing New Batt
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm hoping somebody may be able to help. My old battery was on it's last legs, so I purchased a new battery to replace it. I don't have stop/start, so I purchased this Varta battery
https://www.varta-automotive.com/en-gb/battery-fin...
I installed it today, disconnecting the negative first and putting it on last - but now I don't have any ignition power. The only light that appears on the dash is the handbrake light - nothing else comes up at all. The remote keys no longer work either. There is power to the electric windows, seats and central locking and the hand brake comes on - but everything else it dead. I've checked the fuses and can't see any issues there, does anybody have any ideas what may be going on? I've tried running VCDS but as there is no ignition power it comes back saying no response from any of the modules. I tried plugging the old battery in, but it's the same. I fear I may have triggered some sort of fail safe, but I don't know why or what that would be?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, just an update to let to let you all know my car has been fixed.
The fault was with the convenience control module (CCM, J393). My old one (8KO 907 064 DP) had bitten the dust, it has now been replaced with a brand new unit (8KO 907 064 CQ). It cost me £565 in total including the part and labour for diagnosing, replacing and recoding (the module was just over £310).
On a side note I have to mention the garage that sorted this all out. I've used them on a few occasions, each time they have been spot on. They are honest, take pride and care in their work and they certainly know what they are doing. They are based in Dartford and are called 4Rings - 4 Rings LTD Of Dartford Audi Recognised Independent Garage.
It's great to have the car back!!!
Thanks for your reply Dr G, it's appreciated.
