I have a 2 year old Samsung TV in the kitchen. Its wall mounted.

The sound is not the best and often have to rewind to catch what was said.

I have looked around but cant find a product that will fit the bill.

I want something that I can plug into the sky box optical out. Then send the audio to a couple of discrete wireless speakers in the kitchen. (sky box is in the lounge)

Anyone have a similar set up?

The TV signal comes over via HDMI over LAN. Its not a massive distance but I doubt BT speakers will reach?

What type of speakers are you looking at? Ceiling speakers? wall mount?

The only amp we do with optical output is the amazing Tangent Ampster.

But you'd need to site the amp somewhere, get a cable from the Sky box to it then two speaker cables out to the speakers.

If you can't run cables then I'd really recommend adding a sound bar under the TV instead. It'd be easy to install and improve the sound.

And if you sit down to watch the TV then you really want the sound coming from the TV position otherwise it can sound a bit disjointed. Another plus point of the sound bar. Irrelevant though if the TV is just for "background" watching.
