Getting the propshaft out?
Discussion
Some of you on FB will have seen I got a little grubby today, well the good news is I've found the cause of the vibration. Front prop shaft UJ has had its day. Got the gearbox end off the spline, now the big one. How do you get the rest of it out???? seen threads on here saying its possible without stripping anything out? Any updates on this one? Will just change the front one to get it back on the road. But would rather change both ends for piece of mind and future satisfaction.
It will come out whole but only through one aperture of the gearbox tunnel.
NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT.
Get some chalk or white paint or similar, so when you find the right gap between the pipes, mark it up.
I didn't do this, and when it came time to put it back in, I had forgotten which hole it came out.
So it took me almost an hour of jiggling, and that thing gets bloody heavy even after 10 minutes holding it in the air, I can tell you.

Cheer Adam. great advice, only spent about half an hour trying to get it out. When it is on its way out photos will be taken also. Just want to save future prop removers from the frustration.NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT.

Well split the prop and got the suspect UJ out. Replaced and refitted. Its like a new car.
I know I need to do the rest of the job but WOW its back out. Another little tip. if the UJ has the grease nipple at an angle, don't point it to the bolt end. You have to take a bolt out to grease it. Bell to the finish.
