Mk5 Golf GTI-friendly garage, Coventry & Warwickshire

Anyone got any recommendations please? Recently bought a Mk5 GTI that seems to be in good order, but I'd like to have it looked after by a garage that knows these cars and their common faults. Rang a place in Warwick to ask about a cambelt change: they came back with an absurdly high price and the guy plainly hadn't worked on one of these cars for years, if ever.

Are main dealers competitive on these old cars? Thanks

I'd recommend Coventry Garage on Charter Avenue, they're not a VAG specialist just a smallish independent I trust. My dad has known/dealt with the owner for years so they take all of their cars there and I used to before I started leasing.

One of the techs had a modified MK1 Leon Cupra deisel and the other an 8L Audi S3 so i imagine they're more than capable of changing the belts etc on a mk5.

Bit further away, but you've got Midland VW in Cannock, or Lion Garage in Tamworth.

Both have very good reputations.
