F10 M5 on Continentals
Discussion
When it's time to change the rears on the M5, I was considering the latest ContiSport Contact tyres. Had them on the C63 and M3 and thought they were great all-rounders.
I know the general consensus is for Pilot Super Sports (which are on the car now) but sometimes the wet weather performance is a little unpredictable (straight line on a damp motorway).
Recently read about Toyo Proxes (which have to be fitted as 315 section) apparently offer full throttle 1st gear take offs with no slip. But the trade off is poor wet performance.
MPSS Cup 2s sound great too - but I understand they are more for track use and need heat to work properly etc.
So back to the ContiSports - has anyone had them on their M5/M6?

Mine was delivered with Conti's and at the first available opportunity I moved to MSS.
I'm no driving god but the difference in confidence was noticeable
I found overall grip was increased and much better in warm weather however during the winter months I had winters which again transformed the car into something almost drivable on a wet, cold soggy day

PH is a bit of an echo chamber on this topic. I wonder what proportion of people that keep banging on about 4S's have actually tried SportContact 6's too and how much of it is the illusory truth effect.
I'm sure most of us wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. It would be nice to not have to wrestle with the wheel when full boost arrives in lower gears...
