V8 convertible. That handles?
Discussion
I miss my Cobra replica.
I need/want something that makes my pulse race as I walk towards it, key in hand...but I don't want to spend £30k plus.
What would the PH massive recommend? Fast, loud and left field would be great!
I liked the idea of an SL55 AMG, but these don't really 'handle', do they?
Cheers,
PHH.

What DO you want to spend then?
Various TVRs are dropping under £30k - Chimaera being the most obvious but the newer Tamora (ok not a V8) and older Griffith are also out there to be had.
BMW also have the E93 M3 dropping under £30K and a few offerings if you can overlook the V8 requirement in the shape of the E46 M3 and Z4M Roadster.
Being slightly smaller than the SL, the SLK 55 could be something to look at with plenty of choice below £20K for the older generation and the newer one just starting to hit sub £30K.
As something similar to the Cobra, how about a Westfield SEight?

Thanks for the suggestions. A Westfield wth 300bhp or so may fit the bill. I just don't think anything modern will have the same appeal, nor get my pulse racing. The other cars you mention are all good, but a bit too safe, for me at least. Budget wise, I could stretch to a tad more than 30k, but I may get in trouble...;-)

You may have hit the nail in the head...I tried the Gtr for size and was too tall, even with the seat mounted on the floor. Perhaps a fibreglass wizard could make me a targa style panel with a 'bump' in it to accommodate my cranium! https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
