Prices of 997.1 GT3's do seem to have cooled, perhaps as it's nearing the end of the season.
I think the people who want these cars already have one in the main.GT4 are selling well and newer/faster, nicer road car etc
And the guys with money want the new stuff or the RS models.
It's a tiny market for a 10 year old car imo.
Great cars but the markets flooded with GT cars atm and these look very expensive imo.
I think push comes to shove more people are buying GT4's now 2nd hand, over 100 sold from OPC on the GT4 sales OPC thread.
I have viewed the car: If you were buying based on specification and peace of mind its great as its a high spec UK RHD club sport with OPC warranty for 24 months I think. However, if you were buying based on condition its not so attractive. Probably why its sat around so long making the market look slow.
On the market: I do have some 997.1 GT3 factual market data as I bought a 997.1 GT3 UK RHD club sport on Monday which was owned by a friend who offered it for sale. I wasn't really looking for one but the car is in very good condition, great specification and still under Porsche warranty.
Ill just need to sell my 996.2 GT3 now...........

Can you elaborate on your 997.1 GT3 factual market data?

Factually I bought a 997.1 GT3 rather than a GT4. Maybe I am just old fashioned when it comes to the 3 and 4 at the same money. Can you elaborate on your 997.1 GT3 factual market data?
In terms of price that is between myself and the seller of course, sorry. My advice to you is to find the best condition car you can and negotiate. There is no need to compromise in the current marketplace.
The car at Aberdeen was initially a SOR car but has since been bought into stock. I have not seen the car in the flesh but I think the price is fairly competitive from an OPC and had the spec been more to my liking I may given this car serious consideration.
I was in the market for a 997GT3 but have gone cold on them as I think they are just overpriced. I've not seen many, if any, cars sell over the summer when business should be at its best.
I agree with the comment that there is a small pool of buyers for these cars and there are over 50 for sale on PH alone so it'll be interesting to see if prices hold over winter. I suspect they might soften a bit, especially as the next batch of 991 GT3's coming through could well see 997GT3's being traded in and judging by the number of GT4's on the market there could be some good deals to be had on those.

was this the white 997.1 GT3 with aprox 33k miles? just because I had that car saved on AutoTrader and then it disappeared from the site a few days ago. Assuming it sold but who knows. The advertised price was £82,995.In terms of price that is between myself and the seller of course, sorry. My advice to you is to find the best condition car you can and negotiate. Interesting and topical for me as I am getting ready to dip my toes (when I've sold my 997.2 Targa 4S). It irritates me that I can't (afford to) upgrade to a 997.2 GT3 having been on the Gen II Carrera platform for 4 years, but a 997.1 GT3 will be plenty for me.
I think the OPC Aberdeen car looks well priced given the 24 months warranty but it is an early one...
Targa Florio have had a 30k mile 997.1 CS for sale for over 3 months (according to the date on their YT video) for £80k. Why, at the top of the track day season does a great spec CS not sell? Only one reason!
Fletchdale have a slightly leggier one (40k mile) for the same price.
So it's incredible that Octane Collection, JZM and Parr have put new ones on this week pushing £90k! Don't they study the market?
Is the 991.1 GT3 market really sustainable with 50 for sale in the UK at £15-20k over the price of the new (unobtainable) 991.2 GT3?
Surely a big correction must be coming with this many cars on the market? It's over supply verus demand for the unobtainable 991.2 GT3!
Then there's the Mexico Blue 991.1 GTS at JZM...

I think the market is definitely a little bit soft ... JZM have cut the price of that Mexico Blue 991.1 GTS and a few other cars. I've also been surprised about the amount of 991.2 GTS's ordered for stock by OPC's with a few picked up by PH'ers....that would indicate order books weren't as strong as they'd have you believe. JZM said themselves in one of their recent updates that 997 GT3's weren't selling as quickly as they were. Anecdotally there also seem to be a decent flow of cars hitting the market...I like I am sure a lot of people have Autotrader searches saved for cars like GT3's, GT4's, 997 Turbo S's and 991 and 997 GTS's...I'd say every day there are a handful of such cars hitting the site...six months ago I don't think that was the case.
I don't think it's a surprise really and a healthy thing in the long term. 991.2 GT3's are now being delivered, we'll then have GT2 RS's and then is the rumours are true a 991.2 GT3RS and a new GT4 and hopefully a Boxster Spyder. So there's more GT cars coming to these shores than before...Porsche are definitely upping the volume of the "special" cars..hopefully at least 50% will go to enthusiasts rather than collectors. Enthusiasts are likely to sell cars to make way for their new P&J.
Give it two or three years and we might have a more sensible supply and demand balance for Porsche GT cars.

I think that what happened to the 996 GT3 market is now happening to the 997.1 GT3 market, that being oversupply and market saturation. All watercooled GT cars are niche products, and always have been. Put quite simply there aren't fifty individuals looking for a 997 GT3 at any one time, and when prices start to look too expensive to purchasers, they vote with their feet.
Sensibly priced, reasonable mileage, well maintained, correctly specced cars will continue to sell to those looking for them. Overpriced, leggy, poor spec, badly maintained cars will stick, and stick and stick......
