Morning,

Just had my 4.0 fitted with new hoses after working abroad and not using her and...I'm off to Ukraine. This time I'm going to sell for sure - please could you advise where's best for a quick sale? I'll not use Ebay after a lot of hassle selling an XJ a few years ago but happy to use all others.

Thank you.

ETA - I'll whack it up on PH later this morning as a start. Looks easy enough - presumably I'm not permitted to 'big her up' on the fora?

You get a holes wherever you try to sell these days.
I'd still list on eBay, with a good honest description and polite warnings about time wasting etc.
You could try cars and classics site too but generally here and eBay are the most popular.

Carandclassic is free and has a huge fan base for older cars. Sold my Cerb through them and got a fair bit of interest.

Although the PH classifieds may get you the audience you're after I hate the fact the system has been faulty for years and they won't do anything about it.
Ok it's a minor thing but I'm sure you've noticed that when you try to expand the photo's it only shows the 1st 3-4 pictures and then it goes blank.

It may be a minor thing but it really irritates me to the point that if they can't be bothered to fix it then why should I use their service. There has been a thread on website feedback for years and they simply ignore it. There may be many things people don't like about the site but basically it's free so you have two choices, but when you're paying to advertise I think it's just morally wrong that the system is faulty and they can't be arsed to fix it.

But It obviously doesn't seem to bother people as much as it does me smile because there are 239 tvr's advertised on here and only 60 on probably the leading website AT so I think the answer to your question is there to see. I presume this is why they feel there's no need to fix it.

Does not having the facility to expand a photo stop you being interested in car? I doubt it very much but it still annoys me biggrin. Good luck with your sale.

I've already found it frustrating (being a miserable old bugger :-) ) - trying to change my email address and need to go through hoops. Have started an ad on Car and Classic so looking good there.

I sold my partner's car through Gumtree and within (literally) seconds I had calls informing me of the car accidents I'd been involved in..

Some of the Facebook sites are well watched, and worth linking any 'proper' ads to. wink

If yours is the ad on cars and classics that starts with cherished car with immaculate service history there are no photos showing my end.

That's the one - had to wait for ad to be approved.

Photos on there now

Any comments welcome

Looks ok, could do with a few more shots of the car from a distance though.
Side on etc
